A Really Good Dad!

There are many good dads across the USA as well as around the world.  But I know one specific dad who is special…and who deserves special recognition!  That person happens to be our son!

It all started with our first grandson, David III.  To begin with David II (our son) was very ‘hands on’ starting with the birth of the boys.  Whereas I stayed in the waiting room while David II was born…and I’ve still never changed a ‘poopy’ diaper, our son has done it all and much more! (Photo ca. 2002…borrowed from David II’s wife’s on-line photo file.  Great photo Amy!)

Then along came Emmett Lee…what a cutie!  His proud papa obviously agreed too…  (Photo from early 2005)

Our son has been completely involved in his boy’s lives…even to the point of wearing that lovely helmet while bicycling!  Nice look, but pure dad-like… (I borrowed this photo from the boy’s mom’s photo files.  Unsure of the date)

Heck, he even gets the boys involved with meal prep!  Emmett Lee likes the prep work… (Late 2015)

Here’s the model dad with his boys at a Thomas the Train event!  Emmett Lee was a Thomas the Train junkie for a couple of years and he had every possible iteration of the various sets and sizes… (Summer of 2007)

Here’s a close up of the boys being shown off by a proud papa! (Summer of 2007)

This photo from spring of 2006 captures a moment from a family outing.  David II, and his very supportive wife Amy, have provided many great mind-broadening experiences for their sons!

David III and Emmett Lee were very proud of their dad when he graduated from Case Western’s Law School in the late spring of 2012!  While being involved and engaged as a great dad, David II has had to reinvent his career path 3 times since he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business.

This photo is from 2015.  One of the finest accomplishments the family has achieved is that they all still like each other…brother and brother, boys and dad (most of the time…he is the disciplinarian) as well as boys and mom!

This photo from mid-2015 marks the beginning of the end of dad’s ability to out play and show more athleticism than Emmett and David III.  Only a couple of years before total defeat! (I personally will always remember when David II beat me in a foot race…depressing)

This photo was taken during Thanksgiving week of 2019!  Dang those boys are grown up…and good looking and tall too.  David III was almost 19 (and taller than his dad) and Emmett Lee was 16 and still growing.  'Sadly', both of the boys are taller than yours truly…

So David II (with Amy’s help and counsel) have raised 2 terrific sons, both who have never been in trouble and who are both great students.  This will stand as our son’s greatest accomplishment and we're very proud of him!

We’re hoping that he has a great Father’s Day!

Love always, Papa and Nana
