Could the
sign be simpler? All one really sees
when you look is “Burgers”. In reality,
it states “The Burgers – Welcome to the Feast”.
This
building has seen a plethora of dining options in the 9 years that we’ve lived
here in East Tennessee. I would guess
that we’ve seen 4 or 5 different restaurants at this location. The building has been repainted numerous
times as well.
It was a
weekday, it was early and this place was hopping! We were lucky to get a table and immediately
after we were seated, a line for seating quickly developed. The servers were in constant motion…
The popular
outside patio was an ‘add-on’, having never existed for any of the previous
restaurants at this location. We prefer dining inside…
This was
Linda’s Knox Burger. ($10.00) The Knox Burger incorporates Swiss cheese,
pickles, mushrooms, caramelized onions and mayonnaise with a hand formed burger
patty. This wasn’t Linda’s first Knox
Burger… She knows what she likes!
FYI…The
menu does include a few appetizers.
There are Fried Pickles ($5.00); Chili Cheese Fries ($6.00); Buffalo
Wings ($7.00); Blackened Shrimp ($8.00), and Maple Syrup Glazed Smoked Pork
Bellies. ($8.00)
Norm
struck out in a totally different direction for his meal. This is The Burgers’ Fish and Chips Basket
with 3 fried fish filets, French fries and ‘southern slaw’. ($12.00) He was
very happy with his choice!
About the
menu… Although the restaurant is named “The Burgers”, don’t be misled. There are plenty of options. There is a fish sandwich, a shrimp basket, a
fish and shrimp combo, 6 chicken options, plus hot dogs and sausages. They also serve craft beer…we had a Yee Haw
Dunkel ($4.00), a Vienna Lager ($4.00) and a Bell 2 Hearted Ale. ($4.00)
Laurie
also had a Knox Burger, but she went for the Southern Slaw as her side. She requested her burger medium rare and it
was nice and juicy as she expected. She
really liked the burger with the onions and mushrooms…and she gave a high ‘grade’
to the slaw as well.
I ordered
The Sunny Side Burger. ($10.00) This burger comes with American cheese,
lettuce, tomato, sweet red onions, mayonnaise, bacon and a fried egg. I left off the onions and added jalapenos
slices instead. It was a great burger!
We definitely
will return and perhaps I’ll even try something other than a burger. “The Burgers” location in Lenoir City
Tennessee is located at 540 US Hwy. 321.
Phone: 865-816-6900. The company’s
website complete with menu and its other locations is found at http://www.stockburgers.com/. “The Burgers” restaurants are open from 11 AM
to 9 PM Monday through Thursday, 11 AM to 10 PM Friday and Saturday and from 11
AM until 3 PM on Sundays. Franchises are
available…and depending on the deal…this operation looks like a winner!
